Here
are a few examples of the testimonials I received regarding
some of my work.
Travel
articles
In
the summer of 2008, Elizabeth (Bettse) Folsom submitted
a story to Kansas Traveler about Kansas apples. That was
my first encounter with Bettses talent and that
story did appear in Kansas Travelers summer 2008
issue.
I
was impressed by how thoroughly Bettse had researched
the topic, bringing in facts that made the story so much
more than simply a list of orchards. In addition she had
included several excellent photos, along the with the
photo credits for each. She included a list of suggestions
to ask the orchards, and, to top it all off, she researched
each orchard and provided a spreadsheet with the specialty,
season of operation and contact information of each. Needless
to say I was very impressed with her professionalism and
writing ability.
Bettse
has been a favorite author of mine every since. For Kansas
Traveler she has written about indigenous turkeys, K-States
bug zoo (that made the front page of this years
first issue), Prairie Dog Town in northwest Kansas and
Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs.
Bettse
is very good to work with, always coming back quickly
with answers to my questions, although very few questions
are needed with her work.
If
you are looking for an author for your publication, I
highly recommend Bettse.
Sincerely,
Susan Howell

Contributor
to magazines
After
my division absorbed a Leavenworth County magazine for
rebranding and a new editorial content strategy, I "inherited"
Bettse as a freelance writer because she had unfailingly
served the publication for numerous issues. She's also
contributed to both The Dot and LV Mag and is an editor's
dream!
She's
proactive, timely and provides periodic status reports
that prove helpful throughout the production process.
Her ability to photograph and write results in the execution
of complete editorial packages, and she has a knowledge
and passion for both her subject matter and community
that weaves an extra layer of approachability in each
of her stories.
